Spring has been playing hide and seek with us this year. We have a day of warm weather and then it snows or we have cold rain. I guess I have a case of spring fever.
For the past few years I've been enjoying gardens growing from Facebook and Pinterest. Last year I told my sister that I enjoyed her flowers so much, I didn't need to plant my own. She passed away in November and her husband is moving to be closer to their kids. The flowers won't be the same even though her son, Paul will tend to them.
When my children were pre-teens and teens, we had a 25'X50' garden. We had tomatoes, onions, bell peppers, jalepeno peppers, radishes, corn, cucumbers, squash, and more. I canned from that garden all summer. After I took a job in town, I didn't have time for gardening.
We got a feisty dog or two that dug up the yard a lot. The times I attempted to grow tomatoes in the garden, just one row, the barn cats wallowed them until they died. I just gave up for years. Until...
