This year I am participating in the mad dash writing known as NaNoWriMo. The challenge is to write 50,000 words in the month of November. The first book I wrote with this challenge was The Eyes of a Stranger. That was in 2010.
The next one was Some Happy Day in 2011.
With Six Miles From Nashville, in 2012, I didn't quite make the 50,000 words but I did finish in December. It was a great help in getting it completed.
2013 was the third year I completed the challenge with The Restless Kansas Wind.
This year, 2014, the working title is Running to Her Future, Book V of Rescued...a Series of Hope.
Here is the premise of the book: Rescued from a filthy brothel as a child, Doris Grant never felt worthy of having a home of her own. With the last of her many siblings married off, she stood at a crossroads. Just what would she do with the rest of her life?
As with each book I have written, many changes are made in the process of writing. I think I know where the story is going, but probably don't. That is what makes writing so fun for me. Join me in this journey for the month of November. I will give you updates as I go.
Elaine & her Husband, Terry, raised their three sons in "Almostaranch" Texas where they now enjoy spoiling their grandchildren. Many enjoy listening to her humorous take on life. Even the simplest activity takes on a life of its own when Elaine is involved in the telling of it.
