I've stained the arms of the rolling chair and they were spot on. I stained the china hutch spots and it was too light. I even mixed a little dark with the light and didn't have a good result. Back to the drawing board.
After the stain on the chair arms dried, I put a thin coat of varnish on them. They are looking good. I need to sew the cushion for the back of the chair, but have hit the end of my energy. That makes me a little mad because I like to see progress. Maybe this will help me not try to reassemble the chair before it has more coats of varnish.
Six chairs! This will be a workhouse. You may wonder why I am redoing them. The answer is: I still love these chairs and how they feel when we are sitting around the table visiting with family and friends. They tilt/rock and also roll. We have looked at other chairs, but redoing these 6 chairs will cost what 1 new one, that isn't even the kind we like, costs. Did you catch that the hubs and I are frugal? Yep, in some ways we are. What is your favorite piece of furniture?
