This picture may seem a little redundant, but if you know the hubs, you know that he doesn't like unfinished edges. We also needed to have a way to keep the screening from flying off. He took a galvanized conduit pipe and put it in the hem the grommets made. Then, he put tarp straps on the end grommets and fastened them around nails located under the table.
When I need to tend to the plants, I just unhood two straps and roll back the screen to the other side and do the work. After that, it isn't difficult to re-fasten the straps to the screen.
It is funny how happy this little project has made me. You may wonder why an author writes about all this home improvement stuff. Well, I love home improvement and odd projects. It helps my mind stir up ideas for the story line. (The ideas aren't necessarily about the projects, but do end up in the books.) Let's all strive to enjoy our summer.
